There are 4 caps provided which can be screwed into the wall: 2 positioned for use as a chin-up bar, 2 for sit-ups. The bar then extends into place in which ever position you want to use it in. When you are done, you twist the bar in the opposite direction and it retracts, allowing you to take the bar down.
